PB Byzantine seal of Theodore hypatos, judge of the Hippodrome and of Cappadocia (AD 11th century)
Obv: St. Demetrios standing, holding a spear in his right hand and resting his left hand on a shield set on the ground. Vertical inscription on either side: Ὁ ἅγιος Δημήτριο(ς). Border of dots.
Rev: Inscription of six lines: [Ἀθλη]τά, [β(οή)θ(ει) Θ]εοδώρ(ῳ) [ὑ]πατῳ, κριτ(ῇ) [ἐπὶ τοῦ Ἱ]πποδρόμου (καὶ) τ(ῆς) Καπ[παδ(οκίας)]; decorations above and below. Border of dots.
