BYZANTINE BRONZE CROSS WITH THE 5 WOUNDS OF CHRIST
Ca. AD 800 - 1000 A Byzantine solid bronze cross-shaped pendant decorated with five dots/circles on the arms and in the centre to represent the five wounds of Christ. On the edges of the arms, an incised decoration is composed of parallel lines. On the top is a circular hoop to fix the pendant to a chain or rope. This was an Iconic object for daily life during the Byzantine Empire.
