LARGE ETRUSCO- CORINTHIAN OLPE WITH FLOWER DECORATION
Ca. 600 - 580 BC An Etruscan-Corinthian Olpe with an enlarged rim, truncated conical neck, rod-like handle pear shaped body, and a discoid foot. The lip, neck, handle and foot are painted reddish-brown. Flowers are depicted on the shoulder, three on each side of the vase. The Olpe belongs to the so-called ‘heavy style’ of the ‘Squamati’ group of Ceretan production, datable between 600 and 580 BC.

Provenance: Property of a North London gentleman; formerly in a European Collection, France, bought in Paris in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
