Caracalla and Iulia Domna had set out from the winter camp Nicomedeia to the east in April 215 AD and reached Antiocheia on the Orontes in the summer. It is not certain whether they came through Epiphaneia, but it is probable. After all, the Epiphane eggs evidently took the opportunity to pay their reference to the Empress mother as well.
