Byzantine lead seal of Theophylaktos hypatos
(end of 7th cent.)
Obverse: Cruciform invocative monogram, resolved with certainty as ΘΕΟΤΟΚΕ ΒΟΗΘΕΙ (Mother of God, help), wreath border.
Reverse: Inscription in 4 lines, +ΘΕ/ΟΦΥΛΑ/ΚΤΩVΠ/ΑΤΩ (Theophylaktos hypatos, the owner of the seal), wreath border.
Condition: Very Fine
Weight: 11,9 gram
Diameter: 23,7 mm
