PHRYGIA. Apameia. Circa 100-50 BC. struck under the magistrate Phainippos, son of Drakon. Bust of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet decorated with griffin. Rev. ΑΠΑΜΕΩΝ ΦAINIΠΠOY [ΔPAKONTOΣ] Eagle landing on a base with a maeander pattern, flanked by the caps of the Dioskouroi; behind eagle's head, star. HGC 7, 670. SNG Copenhagen 167.
