CILICIA. Cilicia Aegeae. GORDIANUS I. And . GORDIANUS II. 238-AD. Extremely RARE!
We are of the opinion that this is a posthumous coinage, organized by Balbinus and Pupienus, which was created on the occasion of the appointment of the young Gordianus III. have appointed to their successor. Another character of the same year from Aigeai, which shows Balbinus and Pupienus together with the boy Gordianus, points in the same direction (cfr. SNG BN 2374).
