Description

August II the Strong, 2/3 Thaler (gulden) Dresden 1697 IK - VERY RARE Very rare, first vintage of Augustus II the Strong 2/3 thaler as king of Poland, with Johann Koch's initials I-K and crossed arrows mintmark at the end of the reverse legend. Issue with the shields of Poland, Lithuania and Saxony on the reverse, minted after the coronation, which took place on September 15, 1697. Signs of light wear and a lot of mint luster. Obverse scratched. Obverse: bust of the king to the right, in a laurel wreath D G FRID AUGUST REX POLONIARUM
Reverse: crowned coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania and Saxony, below the initials I-K of Johann Koch DUX SAX I C M A & W S R I ARCH & EL 16-97
Diameter 36 mm, weight 16.84 g Bardzo rzadki, pierwszy rocznik guldenów Augusta II Mocnego jako króla Polski, z inicjałami I-K Johanna Kocha i znakiem mincerskim skrzyżowane strzały na końcu legendy rewersu. Emisja z tarczami Polski, Litwy i Saksonii na rewersie, wybita po koronacji, która miała miejsce 15 września 1697. Ruszona obiegiem moneta, ale nadal ponadprzeciętna z fragmentami menniczej świeżości. Rysa na awersie. Rzadka moneta.
