KINGS of MACEDON. temp. Philip III – Lysimachos. Circa 323-280 BC. AR Drachm, Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin,Rev: AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus seated l., no controls in left field or off flan, Ref.: Price 2727, AR 3,34g. Price 2727 seems to be a catch-all for drachms lacking control marks that are not yet linked to a particular mint by an obverse die link or style. All four of the coins referenced by Price exhibit widely varying styles, such that they probably are not issues from a single mint. The style of the present coin is more similar to early 3rd century issues from mints in southern Ionia or Caria. Ag. 3,35g
