Ancient Roman Imperial Coins - Caracalla - Philippopolis Thrace Medallion
198-217 AD. Obv: AVT K M AVR CEVH ANTWNEINOC legend with laureate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla left, viewed from behind. Rev: KOINON QRAKQN ALEZAN PYQIA EN FILIPPO legend around and beneath emperor on horseback right, preparing to hurl spear at enemy before the horse. Varbanov 1421. 37.61 grams. .
