Islamic Silver Ring with Gemstone
13th century AD. A silver ring comprising a narrow flat hoop, drum-shaped bezel with hatching to the sidewall, claw setting for an ellipsoid carnelian cloison. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 529 for type. 4.28 grams, 23.71mm overall, 15.95mm internal diameter (approximate size British F 1/2, USA 3, Europe 4.30, Japan 4) (1"). Property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
Fine condition.
