Description
Sino-Tibetan Gilt Goddess with Nimbus
19th-20th century AD. A gilt bronze figure of Avalokiteshvara with eleven heads in tiers and eight arms displaying symbols; the figure standing on a lotus-flower dais on a tiered stand with repoussé nimbus to the rear. 4.2 kg, 50cm (19 3/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; acquired on the UK art market before 2000.
