Byzantine Large Pin with Cross
10th-12th century AD. A tapering bronze dress pin with flat cruciform head and scrolled finial. See Wamser, L. & Zahlhaas, G. Rom und Byzanz. Archäologische Kostbarkeiten aus Bayern, München, 1999. 21 grams, 23.5cm (9 1/4"). From the collection of a European lady; part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s.
