Roman Silver Ring with Standing Figure
2nd-3rd century AD. A substantial flat-section hoop with expanding shoulders, broad plaque with raised bezel, engraved with a standing figure on a baseline, holding a bird on his raised left hand, spear and shield in the other. 9.37 grams, 23.75mm overall, 20.58x17.13mm internal diameter (approximate size British M 1/2, USA 6 1/2, Europe 13.72, Japan 13) (1"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
