Description
Roman Ring with Helmetted Bust
3rd-4th century AD. A bronze ring with D-section hoop, keeled shoulders with ribbing expanding to scrolls at the plaque, raised oval bezel with inset silver intaglio of a helmetted bust. 11.3 grams, 27.07mm overall, 16.66mm internal diameter (approximate size British M, USA 6 1/2, Europe 12.46, Japan 12) (1"). Property of a Surrey collector; acquired in the early 1970s.
