Circa 1510-20 AD. A vellum leaf from a Jean Coene Book of Hours, recto with rectangular painted block with acanthus leaves and floral motifs, coloured floral versals and block of text in a cursive blackletter with blue detailing; verso similar. 2.43 grams,10.7 x 16cm (4 1/4 x 6 1/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; formerly with Richard Caton (1842-1926), Lord Mayor of Liverpool (1907-1908); previously in the collection of John Percival (1683-1748), Earl of Egmont.
