Mesoproterozoic 'String of Beads' Fossil

Backdoor Formation, circa 1.4 billion years B.P. Showing a number of Horodyskia williamsii macrofossil imprints; information sticker to reverse with inked collector's note 'Pingandy Station'. 174 grams, 79 mm (3 1/8 in.). [No Reserve]

Found Pingandy Station, Western Australia. From a Leicestershire, UK, collection.

Previously described informally as a ‘string of beads’, assigned to the genus Horodyskia, and is considered one of the oldest known eukaryotes.
