Fossil Whale Ear Bone

Miocene Period, Anversien Formation, circa 23-5.3 million years B.P. Tympanic bone, originally forming part of the whale's hearing apparatus. 128 grams, 76 mm (3 in.). [No Reserve]

From Steepdrop, Vanderhoft, Belgium. From the private collection of Kenneth Machin (1936-2020), Buckinghamshire, UK; with collection no.VM28; his collection of antiquities and natural history was formed since 1948; thence by descent.
