Description

Tudor Period Stained Glass Panel with Head of Magus

France, circa 1510 A.D. Two irregular panels joined in a lead frame, head of a Magus from the Nativity story; bearded with gold crown above the turban. Exhibited at the Harwich Museum, Harwich, Essex, UK, 21st January-10th March 2025; accompanied by a copy of a photograph of the artefacts on display. 201 grams, 21.5 cm (8 1/2 in.). [No Reserve]

European collection, 19th century, by descent. with Christie's, London, 15 December 1998, no.70. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by a search certificate number no.12549-230643.
