Description

18th-19th century A.D.. Discoid miniature clock face with central hole, Roman numerals in the outer band, rococo design and scroll with 'LONDON'. See Forsyth, H. & Egan, H., Toys, Trifles & Trinkets. Base-Metal Miniatures from London 1200 to 1800,London, 2005, p.336ff, for discussion of toy watches and clocks. 6.79 grams, 32 mm (1 1/4 in.).

Found on various UK sites since 1974. Property of an Essex collector. [No Reserve]
