Description

11th-10th century B.C.. With flared socket developing to a midrib with scooped lateral ribbing in a leaf-shaped blade; opposed lateral holes to accept attachment pegs. Cf. Ehrenberg, M., Bronze Spearheads from Berks, Bucks and Oxon, BAR 34, Oxford, 1977, item 37, for type. 109 grams, 16 cm (6 3/4 in.).

Acquired in Germany in 2000. Acquired by the present owner from the above. (For this specific lot, 5% import VAT is applicable on the hammer price.)
