Description
Medieval Bronze Ring with Wave Motif
15th-16th century A.D. D-section hoop, ellipsoid bezel with florid rim, incuse design of addorsed crescents flanking a median line, possibly imitating waves. 7.58 grams, 21.72 mm overall, 17.43 mm internal diameter (approximate size British M 1/2 , USA 6 1/4, Europe 13.09, Japan 12) (3/4 in.).
Private collection formed since the 1940s. UK art market. Property of an Essex gentleman.
