Viking Bronze Howling Beast Mount
11th century A.D. Formed as an openwork seated wolf with long curled tail, head raised and mouth open; similar to Class A, Type 11A. Cf. Hammond, B., British Artefacts Volume 3 - Late Saxon, Late Viking & Norman, Witham, 2013, p.91, fig.1.10-f. 10.6 grams, 33 mm (1 1/4 in.).
