Roman Gold Ring with Garnet
3rd-4th century A.D. Comprising a slender hoop with discoid bezel and central cell surrounded by a beaded wire collar, inset garnet cabochon Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 432, for type. 1.56 grams, 17.01 mm overall, 13.30 x 15.50 mm internal diameter (approximate size British G, USA 3 1/4, Europe 4.92, Japan 4) (3/4 in.).
From a late Japanese specialist collector, 1970-2000s.
