Stone Age Danish Knapped Flint Axe
Neolithic Period, 5th-3rd millennium B.C. Bifacially knapped with convex cutting edge, gently tapering profile with squared sides to slightly rounded butt; old inked collector's reference 'IMT' to butt and applied paper label '68J'. See Madsen, A.P., Antiquités Préhistoriques du Danemark, Copenhagen, 1872, pl.26, 1. 682 grams, 18.5 cm (7 1/4 in.).
