Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Alexander III (the Great) - Countermarked AR Tetradrachm
213-212 B.C. Perga, Pamphylia mint, dated year 6. Obv: head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress; Seleukid anchor countermark on head. Rev: ALEXANDROY with Zeus seated left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and sceptre; square C over ? in left field, O beneath throne. Price 2841; Heipp-Tamer 98. 15.93 grams.
