Western Asiatic Decorated Ceramic Ewer
Circa 14th-16th century A.D. The bulbous body with impressed whorl, pellet, bar and other ornament, ropework ring to the shoulder, flared neck and tiered mouth, strap handle to the reverse and a rolled foot; Turkish workmanship; chipped. Cf. Lane, A., Later Islamic Pottery: Persia, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, London, 1957, item 55(a).568 grams, 18.5 cm (7 1/4 in.). Acquired on the European art market in the 1990s.Ex property of a Suffolk collector.[No Reserve]
