Western Asiatic Lapis Lazuli Animal Face Plaque
1st millennium B.C. or later. Carved as a lion with stylised detailing in relief on a square-shaped plaque. 9 grams, 24 mm (1 in.). Ex private collection, 1980s. Acquired on the UK art market in the 1990s.
