Description
Eastern Roman Marble Tray
3rd-4th century A.D. Of shallow rectangular form with volute handles, restored. Cf. The Metropolitan Museum, New York, accession number 2012.479.3, for a similar dish, albeit in glass.1.24 kg, 26 cm wide (10 1/4 in.). Acquired 1960s-1990s. Late Alison Barker collection, a retired London barrister.
