Description
Parthian Glazed Ceramic Jug
1st century B.C.-1st century A.D. Speckled glaze; deep shoulder with chamfered rim and strap handle. Cf. similar item (with cream glaze) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, under reference 36.30.41.776 grams, 16.5 cm high (6 1/2 in.). Acquired by the vendors father on the UK art market, before 1990.
