Description

Egyptian Banded Alabaster Jar
Late Period-Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 B.C. The body with slightly tapering sidewalls and everted rim, possibly Bactrian. Cf. Guidotti, M.C., Vasi dall'epoca protodinastica al nuovo regno, Rome, 1991, p.161, no.206, for a similar example.228 grams, 65 mm high (2 5/8 in.). Ex Moss collection, Singapore, 1990s. Acquired from a provincial auction.
