Stone Age Danish Thin-Butted Polished Flint Axe
Neolithic Period, 5th-3rd millennium B.C. Finely polished with convex cutting edge tapering with narrow squared edges to thin rounded butt. See Glob, P. V., Danske Oldsager II, Yngre Stenalder, Copenhagen, 1952, no.11, for a generally similar example.135 grams, 12.5 cm (5 in.). Acquired during the 1970s-1980s. From the Nils Thorwaldson (1918-2019) private collection. From the collection of a South West London, UK, collector.
