Description
Western Asiatic Silver Animal Statuette
1st millennium A.D. Formed in the round with stylised anatomical detailing, coiled tail, incised detailing to the tops of the legs and suspension loop to base of neck. 16.8 grams, 31 mm (1 1/4 in.). ‘The Ancient Menagerie Collection’ formerly the property of a Cambridgeshire lady, collected since the 1990s and acquired from auctions and dealers throughout Europe and the USA, now ex London collection.
