Large Medieval 'Thames' Gilded Annunciation Pilgrim's Badge
Circa 14th-15th century A.D. A gilt bronze pilgrim's badge comprising an outer ring with textured fill, rolled rim, inner field with rosette and scene of the Anunciation with a winged angel addressing Mary. 0.85 grams, 38 mm wide (1 1/2 in.). Found on the Thames foreshore, London, UK.Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985.Albert Ward collection, Essex, UK. [No Reserve]
