Han Dynasty, 206 B.C.-220 A.D. or earlier. A rare wooden jar with lid (fanghu) adorned with bestial handles and four dragonesque feet, polychrome lacquered detailing to the zoomorphic figures and over the body, depicting mythic bird creatures, geometric and floral motifs, repeated on the interior and exterior of the lid; fragmentary.
