Roman Lapis Lazuli and Gold Bead Necklace
Circa 1st-3rd century A.D. A restrung necklace composed of graduated lapis lazuli beads of biconical type, interspersed with hollow-formed sheet gold beads with decorative vertical ribbing and plain bodies. 52 grams, 72 cm long (28 3/8 in.). Acquired 1980-2015. Ex Abelita family collection.
