Description

Post Medieval Gilt Floral Mount 17th-19th century A.D. A gilt copper-alloy mount formed as a stylised flower displaying two slender, upwards-pointing leaves; mounting lugs to reverse. Cf. Read, B., Metal Artefacts of Antiquity, Volume One, Somerset, 2001, items 259 and 337, for comparable. 9.12 grams, 34 mm (1 3/8 in.). Found Rodings, Essex, UK. Accompanied by a copy of a UKDFD record sheet with number 55671. [No Reserve]
