Chinese Neolithic Painted Jar 3rd millennium B.C. A ceramic jar with piriform body, bulbous neck, everted rim and two integral loop handles, decorated with a medial band of painted chevrons, vertical oval links between, X-motifs above, scallops below. 2.4 kg, 31 cm wide (12 1/4 in.). West Country collection, 1980-1990s.
