Western Asiatic Gold and Gemstone Pendant Early 1st millennium A.D. A pendant comprising a hollow-formed sheet gold saltire with granulation and pellet to one face and the other with shallow recesses to accept an (organic?) insert; wire suspension loop above, slender dangle with terminating loop below strung with garnet and green glass beads. 1.7 grams, 31 mm (1 in.). Acquired 1970-2010. Collection of a late Japanese gentleman.
