Romano-Parthian Glazed Terracotta Animal Head 3rd century B.C.-2nd century A.D. A glazed terracotta bovine head modelled with short horns, two large circular eyes, oval-shaped ears and a large circular mouth with exaggerated nostrils, a third circular hole to the forehead; head hollow; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 41 grams total, 67mm including stand (2 5/8 in.). Sotheby's 12 August 1978, lot 444 (part). Ex Mohamed Makriya collection. [No Reserve]
