Description

Roman 'St. Albans' Apothecary Spoon Circa 1st century A.D. A bronze apothecary spoon composed of a shallow hemispherical bowl, wedge-shaped neck and tapering, round-section stem. Cf. The Metropolitan Museum, accession number 17.230.60, for similar. 11.3 grams, 15.5 cm (6 1/8 in.). Found near St Albans, UK, 1980s. Property of a Kent collector. Accompanied by an old ticketed bag with provenance.
