Andronicus III - AR 1/2 Basilikon. 1328-1341 A.D. Constantinople mint. Obv: St Demetrius standing facing with ??L? / ?? to left and ? / ?? / ?D to right holding spear and shield. Rev: emperor raising hands standing at left with nimbate Mary to right with ????? to left, I?V to right and IMP between. DOC 867-8; PCPC 196 (not represented in collection); LPC p.120, 6; Sear 2476. 1.04 grams. Property of a London gentleman. With a descriptive ticket.
