Description

Vespasian - Judea - AR Denarius. 69-70 A.D. Rome mint. Obv: IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG legend with laureate bust right. Rev: Judea seated right on ground with trophy behind; IVDAEA in exergue. RIC 15; BMC 35; RSC 226; Sear 2296. 2.55 grams. Found whilst searching with a metal detector, Isle of Wight, UK, on 12 May 2021. Recorded by Isle of Wight Portable Antiquities Scheme Liaison Officer with reference numbers SZ 40381 and BNG 86265. [No Reserve]
