L. Plautius Plancus - Medusa AR Denarius. 47 B.C. Rome mint. Obv: L PLAVTIVS beneath facing head of the Medusa. Rev: PLANCVS beneath Victory (or winged Aurora) flying right, holding reins and conducting the four rearing horses of the Sun. Craw. 453/1a; Syd. 959; Babelon Plautia 15; RSC Plautia 14-15; Sear 429. 3.37 grams. Ex UK private collection.
