Description

Silver 'Never to Change' Posy Ring. 17th-18th century A.D. A silver posy ring with D-section hoop, interior inscribed 'never to change' in script, followed by CI or IC monogram in oval cartouche. Cf. The British Museum, museum number 1961,1202.227, for a ring with similar stamp- suggested possible makers for the BM's ring were active in the 17th and 18th century. 3.46 grams, 21.54 mm overall, 18.77 mm internal diameter (approximate size British R, USA 8 1/2, Europe 18 3/4, Japan 18) (3/4 in.) Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985. Albert Ward collection (part 3), Essex, UK. Accompanied by an old handwritten title card. [No Reserve]

Very fine condition, resized. A large wearable size.
