Medieval Lion's Head Mount. c.12th century A.D. A bronze lion head mount with conical body with flat apex, the notched bottom edge representing the animal's mane, incised lentoid eyes and muzzle; pierced through the mouth, and through the edge at 12 and 6 o'clock. 40.7 grams, 36 mm (1 1/2 in.) Found Norfolk, UK, before 2001. Private collection of Mr M.H., Norfolk, UK. [No Reserve]
