Description
Medieval Gold Ring with Teardrop Garnet. 13th century A.D. A tear-shaped bezel set with cut and polished garnet, attached to a later gold hoop. Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 568, for type. 0.52 grams, 18.24 mm overall, 16.67 mm internal diameter (approximate size British J 1/2, USA 5, Europe 9.32, Japan 9) (5/8 in.) Acquired 1970-2010. Collection of a late Japanese gentleman.
