Viking Wolf Mask Patrix Die. 9th-11th century A.D. A bronze patrix die for a strap end or tag, formed as a facing wolf-mask with lentoid eyes and looped ears, trefoil muzzle, transverse bar to the tab. 28 grams, 50 mm (2 in.) Acquired late 1940s-1950s; thence by descent. Family collection of a London gentleman. French private collection. For this specific lot, 5% import VAT is applicable on the hammer price
