Viking Age Silver Axe Pendant. 9th-12th century A.D. A silver axe-shaped pendant with integral suspension loop, crescentic blade and pricked dot decoration to both faces, the central panel of dots enclosing a stylised flower composed of circles around a central annulet. 4.28 grams, 30 mm (1 1/4 in.) Collection since 1995. Bavaria, Germany, before 2000. Property of a UK gentleman. [No Reserve]
