Large Viking Age Carpenter's Socketted Axehead. 8th-11th century A.D. An iron axehead, roughly T-shaped in plan with a shallow crescentic blade, convex cutting edge and roughly rectangular socket. 805 grams, 28 cm (11 in.) UK gallery, acquired in the 2000s. Property of an English gentleman. [No Reserve]
